Longtime Sharon Springs, KS resident, Marjorie Louise Poe, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 23, 2022 at the Greeley County Long-term Care Center.
Marjorie was born on February 6, 1931 in Fort Morgan, CO to Samuel J. and Christina Wacker. On January 1, 1950, she married the love of her life, Ernest E. Poe at the First Baptist Church in Fort Morgan, CO.
While in Fort Morgan, Ernest and Marjorie were blessed with 3 children, Ed, Kenneth and Linda.
Ernest, Marjorie and their family moved to Healy, KS in 1958, and then moved to Sharon Springs in 1970. She was active in ABW, both in Scott City and Sharon Springs, and she enjoyed teaching Sunday school at the Baptist Churches.
She spent her days as a homemaker and helping on the ranch and farm, wherever needed. The family enjoyed most holidays at their house where Mom always had too much food for us to eat.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Ernest, one brother Samuel Wacker and two sisters Lillian Longacre and Johanna Windolph.
She is lovingly survived by her sons Edward (Valerie) Poe and Kenneth (Becky) Poe, and her daughter Linda (Greg) See; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters Bernice Turcott and Grace (Lou) Davis; two brothers Wendel (Margaret) Wacker and Edwin (Barbara) Wacker; one brother-in-law Ron Windolph and one sister-in-law Tippy Wacker.
