Wilma Bedker

Surprise, Arizona resident Wilma Helen “Snooks” (Burnett) Bedker, 88, died September 16, 2013.

She was born November 12, 1924, at Sharon Springs, Kansas, the daughter of Rene (Foley) and Ray Burnett.  She graduated with the class of 1942 from Wallace County Community High School in Sharon Springs.

On January 26, 1946, she and John L. “Jack” Bedker were married at Sharon Springs.  She was a member of the Catholic Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers Wayne Burnett and Demps Burnett; and grandson Bentley John Bedker.

Surviving family includes her husband Jack Bedker of Surprise, Arizona; daughter Anne Hutcheson and her husband Lynn of Port Matilda, Pennsylvania; son John L. Bedker, II and his wife Linda of London, England; son Tom Bedker of Arizona; Tim Bedker of Surprise, Arizona; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Alene Mockelmann of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado; and brother Fred Burnett of Colorado.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 26, at 11:00 AM MT, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Sharon Springs, Kansas, with Father Norbert Dlabal presiding.  Burial will follow in the Sharon Springs Cemetery.

Memorials may be designated to the Wilma Bedker Memorial, and may be left at the service, or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS  67735-1555.
