Lifelong Goodland, Kansas resident Stanley Shoop Kenny, 76, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Citizens Medical Center in Colby, Kansas.
He was born December 1, 1937, at Goodland, Kansas, the son of Eileen Beulah (Shoop) and Glenn Herman Kenny. He graduated from Sherman Community High School with the class of 1955.
On September 14, 1958, he and Dolores E. Newell were married at Goodland. Stan was a lifetime cowboy who enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, rodeos and he thoroughly loved following his kids and grandkids in all their sports, activities, and events. He never met a stranger and he always had a positive sense of humor.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sister-in-law Janet Kenny.
Surviving family includes his wife Dolores E. Kenny of Goodland; two daughters Dawn Mayer and her husband Bob of Fort Collins, Colorado; Becki Carpenter of Brewster; son Jason Kenny and his wife Andrea of Ulysses; eight grandchildren Ashley Stainbrook, her husband Ryan and their children Kora and Mason; Amy Flaska and her husband Skylor; Danielle Mayer, Leah Mayer, Weston Mayer, Kali Kenny, Koy Kenny, and Cami Kenny; two brothers Dale Kenny and his wife Sharon of Goodland; and Keith Kenny of Goodland.
The funeral will be on Tuesday, December 2, at 10:00 AM MT, at the First Christian Church in Goodland, with Pastor Mike Pinkelman officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects on Tuesday, from 9:00 until 10:00 AM MT, at the First Christian Church.
