Sherryl Lynn (Hallagin) Cutter

May 9, 1946 — June 10, 2025

Bel Aire, KS, formerly of Goodland, KS

Bel Aire, KS resident and former Goodland, KS resident, Sherryl Lynn (Hallagin) Cutter, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in Wichita, KS. She was 79 years old.

Sherryl was born on May 9, 1946, in St. Francis, KS, to Clarence and Blanche (Schield) Hallagin. She was one of five children raised in McDonald, KS, and on the Hallagin family farm near Goodland, where she enjoyed showing sheep, sewing, and cooking in 4-H. She graduated from Sherman Community High School in 1964.

She met John Henry Cutter on a blind date at the Goodland fair, and nine months later, they were married on February 27, 1965. They lived in San Diego and Oakland while John served in the Navy. After returning to Goodland, she worked at the Goodland State Bank before the family settled in Wichita, where they raised four children: Jeffrey (dec.), Bradley (dec.), Darian, and Kimberly.

Sherryl served the City of Bel Aire for 25 years as City Clerk. She loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, and enjoying dinner with friends. She spent many years as a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed time at the lake. She delighted in watching her children and grandchildren play sports. This past year, she proudly achieved her goal of visiting all 50 states. Sherryl will be fondly remembered for her love of laughter, dancing, and driving just a little too fast in her '80s Camaro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, and her sons Jeffrey and Bradley.

Survivors include her daughters Kim (Jason) Jones of New Albany, IN, and Darian (Joel) Fulton of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren: Tayla McKay, Karis Jones, Brayden Rohr, Easton Jones, Taelyn Jones, and Sorcha Shoemaker; and two great-grandchildren: Tezlyn Rohr and Bodhi Estrada. She is also survived by her siblings: Ronald Hallagin of Ellis, KS; Rollie (Jean) Hallagin of Goodland, KS; Greg (Ginny) Hallagin of Burlington, CO; and Sandra Jamison of Goodland, KS.
