Robert Lee Kinderknecht

Longtime Goodland, KS resident Robert Lee Kinderknecht, 90, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023 at his home near Goodland.

Bob was born on September 14, 1933 in Goodland, KS to Antone and Ottilia (Weigel) Kinderknecht.  He was one of eight children.  He grew up in Goodland and graduated from Sherman Community High School in 1951.  In January 1958, Bob married Sherrill Dee Marie Daugherty in Loveland, Colorado.  To this union, two children Pam and David were born.

He was a farm boy who left Kansas to join the United States Navy and served during the Korean War.  He then went to work in the telecommunications industry, and traveled around the United States and then came back to his home to enjoy his senior years surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sherrill and his daughter Pam Marsh, brothers, Melvin, Hubert the 1st, Lillian Harding, Hubert the 2nd, Verda Scheck.

Surviving family includes his son Dave and wife Sandra Kinderknecht of Fort Worth, TX, three granddaughters Caitlin (Nathon) Shaw of Castle Rock, CO, Cassidy (Andy Riggs) Kinderknecht of Carrolton, TX, and Courtney Kinderknecht of Fort Worth, TX, two great grandchildren and two sisters; Twila Murray of Goodland, KS and Thelma Mills of Wichita, KS, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Cremation was chosen.

A Vigil and Rosary service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 6:00 PM MT at Koons-Russell Funeral Home in Goodland.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be designated to the Race for the Cure-Alzheimer's Association and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
