Longtime Sherman County, Kansas resident Patricia Marie Lohr, 82, died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Brookside Inn, Castle Rock, Colorado.

Patricia was born January 14, 1934, in Goodland, Kansas, the daughter of John Patrick Owen and Myra Louise (Evans) Owen.  She graduated from Edson Consolidated High School, Edson, Kansas, in 1952, and Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, in 1957, with a Bachelors of Science in Home Economics. She taught Home Economics in Colby, Kansas.

On June 22, 1958, Patricia and Melvin Louis Lohr were married at the First United Methodist Church in Goodland, Kansas.

Patricia worked many years at Collage Ltd. in Goodland, Kansas, as a bookkeeper as well as dedicated seamstress.

Patricia and Melvin resided many years in their country home outside of Goodland, Kansas, until 1992, when they retired from wheat farming and moved into their home in the town of Goodland, Kansas.  Patricia resided there until 2013 when she moved to Eaton Assisted Living, Denver, Colorado, to be near all of her children and families residing in Colorado.

Patricia was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, serving in many ways including teaching with her husband in 3rd Grade Sunday School.   She was an active member of her United Methodist Women Circle, her Home Economics Club, and particularly kept busy with her children in many school and 4-H club activities.   Patricia loved family gatherings, baking for others, and planting flowers in her garden.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Melvin, her sister and brother-in-law Lucille and Harold Staadt, sister-in-law Mary Alice Owen, brother-in-law Leon Wesner, brother-in-law Eugene Davis, brother-in-law Joe Gutsch, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kenneth and Joyce Lohr, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Maxine and Irvin Winfrey, and daughter-in-law Joy Lohr.

Surviving immediate family includes her daughter and son-in-law Gwen and Alan Stormont, and their children Kyle and Shalene of Littleton, Colorado; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Barbara Lohr, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; son and daughter-in-law Bradley and Cassi Lohr, and their child Brady of Aurora, Colorado.  She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren - Jackson and Grace Kenney and Jonah Heiser, grandchildren of Barbara and Kevin.  She is also survived by her brother Larry Owen of Newton, Kansas; sister Margaret Wesner of Chickasha, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Mildred Gutsch of Goodland, Kansas; sister-in-law Evelyn Davis of Burlington, Colorado.

The funeral will be Thursday, June 9th, at 10:30 AM MT, at the First United Methodist Church in Goodland with Pastor Gordon Pettibone officiating.  Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.

Friends and relatives may share their respects on Wednesday, June 8th, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel in Goodland.

Memorials may be designated to Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) and may be left at or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Goodland, KS 67735-1555.
