Michael Ray Rubio

Michael (Mike) Ray Rubio, 63, of Goodland, KS passed away unexpectedly in Colorado Springs, Colorado on May 1, 2024. He was born on August 6, 1960, to Manuel and Mabel Rubio in Roswell, New Mexico.

Mike was united in marriage to Kristy Dreiling on November 19, 1977 in Goodland, KS at the Calvary Gospel Church. To this union they had three children and five grandchildren.

Mike’s biggest pride and joy was spending time with his family. If that meant going to the movies, hanging out in the backyard, or teaching the grandkids how to change their oil. Mike always ensured that not only his children were taken care of, but his grandchildren as well. Mike also enjoyed camping, grilling a variety of meats, experimenting with his own recipes, and taking time away from city limits to fish at Old Smokey.

Mike is survived by his wife Kristy Rubio of Goodland, KS, and his 3 children; Cory (Andrea) Rubio of Goodland, KS, Tanner Rubio (Michelle Killmon) of Thorton, CO, and ShayAnn Rubio of Goodland, KS. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren; Isaiah Rubio, Lexi Rubio, Briella Rubio, Caleb Killmon, and Bryce Rubio. Surviving siblings include; Lorena (Sergio) Trevizo of Dayton, TX, Manuel (Kristy) Rubio of Rossville, KS, Mark (Gloria) Rubio of Liberty, TX, Linda (Johnny) Martinez of Liberty, TX, Steve (Doris) Rubio of Roswell, NM, Angie (Sam) Matta of Euless, TX, Daniel Rubio of Roswell, NM.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Mabel Rubio.
