He was born November 14, 1947, at Goodland, Kansas, the son of Mable (Clark) and Guy E. Mersch. He attended schools at Roswell, New Mexico and at Goodland.
He and Velma L. Beckner were married. He worked in construction.
Preceding him in death were his daughter Donna K. (Mersch) Jackson Cain and his ex-wife Velma L. (Beckner) Mersch Dewey.
Surviving family includes his children Terry L. Mersch of Salina; David M. Mersch of Salina; Danny L. Mersch and his wife Shari of Bennington; sister Margie M. Mersch of Burlington, Colorado; Mike M. Mersch and his wife Nina of Goodland.
