Lisa Anne White Murphy, 50, passed away at her home in Salina, Kansas, on Thursday, April 10th, 2014.

She was born on December 14, 1963, in Goodland, Kansas, the daughter of Vickie Ray (Richards) and Charles Wendell White.

Lisa grew up in Goodland and graduated from Goodland High School in 1982.  She was very musically gifted and could play trumpet, piano, and flugelhorn.  She also competed on the Goodland High School tennis team.  She was a state of Kansas 4-H winner in Health, as well as Emergency Preparedness in her senior year.  She was also a bell ringer for the Goodland United Methodist Church and in Manhattan, as well.  She attended Kansas State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Sciences in May, 1986.  Her professional career started in 1987, working for the Riley County EMS.  She also spent several years working for Kansas Department of Health and Environment as a Disease Investigative Specialist.  In 1999, she began work in pharmaceutical sales, working first for Searle Pharmaceuticals, then with Takeda Pharmaceuticals (formerly TAP).
She was a pharmaceutical territory manager for Takeda Pharmaceuticals since 2003.

On March 18, 1989, she married Jim Murphy in Goodland, Kansas.  To this union one son was born, Ryan Andrew Murphy.  They later divorced.

Preceding her in death was her father Wendell White.

She is survived by her mother Vickie White of Goodland; her son Ryan (Megan Hanson) of Salina; granddaughter Lorelai Korine Murphy of Salina; sister Shelley Messner (Roger) of Olathe, Kansas; brother Brandon White of Goodland; aunt Anne Cross (Don) of Leawood; nephew Jason Messner of Manhattan; nieces Courtney Messner of Olathe; and Brianna White, Berkley White, and Kelsey White all of Goodland.  She is also survived by R. Scott “Bronc” Barrows of WaKeeney, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 17th, at 10:00 CST, at Christ Cathedral in Salina.   Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 16th, from 4 pm to 8pm CST, at Ryan Mortuary in Salina.

Burial will be on Thursday, April 17th, at 4:30 pm MST at the Goodland Cemetery, with Reverend Dustin Petz officiating.  Visitation in Goodland will be on Thursday, April 17th, from 3:00 until 4:00 PM MT, at Koons Chapel in Goodland.

Friends and family are welcome at the First United Methodist Church in Goodland immediately following the burial.
