Goodland, Kansas resident James Edward Ornelas, 60, died Sunday,
March 20, 2016.
He was born April 28, 1955, in Roy, New Mexico, the son of Mary Louise (Valdez) and Jose Efidencio Ornelas. He attended Lincoln High School in Denver, Colorado. James worked at the 7-Up bottling plant in Denver, before moving to Goodland in 2004. In Goodland, he worked for Goodland Star News and Goodland Churches Thrift Shop.
Preceding him in death were his wife Barbara Ornelas and father Joe Ornelas.
Surviving family includes his children Edward Ornelas and his wife Kristy of Denver, Colorado; Tisa Taylor and her husband Paul of Marble, Minnesota; Christy Ornelas and Jennifer Ornelas, both of Arvada, Colorado; seven grandchildren; mother Mary Cabral of Goodland; three sisters Vangie Pascone of Denver, Colorado; Kathleen Daniels and her husband Wesley of Atlanta, Georgia; Yvonne Ornelas of Goodland.
Services will be announced at a later date.
