Longtime Goodland, Kansas resident Evelyn Bessie Kling, 104, died Monday, August 4, 2014, in Goodland at Good Samaritan Society—Sherman County.
She was born June 22, 1910, at Oberlin, Kansas, the daughter of Bessie (Beneda) and Ernest Kolsky. She attended country school at Mound School. On October 6, 1926, she and John Robert Kling were married at Burlington, Colorado, and they made their home in Goodland.
Preceding her in death were her husband John Kling, daughter Lorena Anderson, son Paul Kling, son-in-law Lowell Harding, and daughter-in-law Juanita Kling
Surviving family includes her daughter Alberta Harding of Goodland; six grandchildren Dianna Elliott of Tribune; Janet Mehling, Susan Bellamy, Rodney Kling, and Brian Kling, all of Goodland; Lori Wetter of Salina; thirteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be Wednesday, August 6, at 10:00 AM MT, at Goodland Cemetery, with Reverend Carol Edling Jolly officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects at Koons Chapel in Goodland, one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be designated to Good Samaritan Society—Sherman County, and may be left at or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N Main, Goodland, KS 67735-1555.
