Longtime Sherman County, Kansas resident Ethelyn W. Cloyd, 82, died Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Goodland Regional Medical Center.
She was born January 9, 1933, in Kit Carson County, Colorado, the daughter of Eileen E. (Donner) and Ortis L. Jones. She attended schools at Western Star Country School, Weskan, and Kanorado.
On September 4, 1948, she and Dale K. Cloyd were married at Taos, New Mexico, and they made their home in Wallace County. She was a member of the Kanorado United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, sister Bernadine Lambrecht, and brother Kieth Jones.
Surviving family includes her husband Dale Cloyd of Goodland; daughter Dennice Farr and her husband Clarence of Weskan; son Darrel Cloyd and his wife Becky of Kanorado; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and brother Marlyn Jones and his wife Bonnie of Sierra Vista, Arizona.
The memorial service will be on Saturday, December 19, at 10:00 AM MT at Koons Chapel in Goodland, with Pastors Bill and Lyn Linde officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Kanorado Cemetery.
Friends may share their respects one hour prior to the service.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be designated to the Kanorado Senior Center, and may be left at the service or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS 67735-1555.
