Lifelong Edson, Kansas resident, Esther Elaine (Wilson) Elliott, 96, passed away at her home in Edson on March 20, 2026. She was born on April 25, 1929 to Roy and Nellie (Barnard) Wilson Sr. in Cheyenne County, Kansas.

Esther and Eugene got married on December 26, 1947 in Colby, Kansas and to this union they had four children, Mike, Marilyn, Maxine and Marty.

Esther taught country school for a short time. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her four children. She was the Edson School cook and the cook at the A&W during the summer.

After the Edson School closed, she worked at the post office and was postmaster until her retirement in 1999.

Esther enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing cards and readying. Gene and Esther enjoyed watching school sports and the local car races. Family was most important to Esther. She supported her children and grandchildren in all of their activities.

She is survived by children Mike (Susan) Elliott of Hillsboro, OR, Maxine (Dennis) Howard of Tribune, KS, Marty (Kyle) Elliott of Goodland, KS and her sister Elanor Elliott of Edson, KS. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Elliott, her daughter Marilyn Bliss, her great granddaughter, three brothers, and four sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made out to the Edson Alumni Association and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
