Emily Jane Vincent

Emily Jane Vincent, age 88, went to her eternal home on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 surrounded by her family at Greely County Hospital in Tribune, KS.

Emily was born on January 26, 1937 in Goodland, KS to Vernon Elmore Vincent and Francis Louise (Goebel) Vincent. She attended and graduated from Brewster High School in 1955.

She was raised on various ranches in Logan and Wallace County. Emily worked at the Wallace Cafe, then moved to the Heyl Café until she went into business of her own with the Dairy King from 1972 to 1976, At the Dairy King she had a contract with the railroad to feed the crews when they would come to town. Per the family circle article the restaurant was full from 5:30-9:30 AM.

Emily went to work at the nursing home in Sharon Springs where she dedicated herself to caring for the residents. Emily devoted her life to loving and taking care of everyone that came into her life.

Emily was the loving devoted mother to her three children, Shannon, Christal, and Jeffery. In the late 70’s she met her lifelong companion Phillip Arthur August Strandberg. They enjoyed their trips together to Carlsbad, NM and Kittridge, CO where he had a cabin.

Emily had a strong passion for animals and if you knew her she loved her dog, Elli so much. Emily also had a love for donating to different charities. She enjoyed listening to music and always had her radio going. Her pride and joy was her great-grandchildren.

Emily had a heart of Gold and was a lifelong servant to her community. She will be dearly missed by her family and her friends.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents Vernon Elmore Vincent and Francis Louise (Goebel) Vincent. Her sisters Betty Baehler (Harold) and Patsy Rains, and her lifelong companion Phillip Strandberg.

She is survived by her siblings Tony (Becky) Vincent of Sharon Springs, KS, Ginger (Kenny) Becker of Arriba, CO, Mike Vincent of Sharon Springs, KS; Jack Vincent of Sharon Springs, KS and cousin Helen (Monroe) Stramel of Winona, KS. Her children Shannon (Ammie) Vincent of Flower Mound, TX, Christal (JD Perry) Bohrer of Wallace, KS, and Jeffery(Beth) Vincent of Sharon Springs, KS. Grand children Robby Krause of Colorado Spring, CO, Nich (Caroline) Krause of Murfreesboro, TN, Michael Vincent of Denver, CO. Ray (Taylor) Vincent of Denver, CO, Rusty (Shayna) Bohrer of Sharon Springs, KS, and Kalynn (Klay) Johnson of Elkhart, KS, Cody (Lindsey) Vincent of Sheilds, KS and Austin Vincent of Cheyenne Wells, CO, Ashley (Austin) Fulkerson of Columbia, MO and great-grandchildren Trista Weldon, Ava, Becca, Layna, Raya Bohrer, Kenna and, Rhett Johnson, Kadence Cassidee and Emily Vincent, Peyton Scammehorn, and Kasher Mazanec, and Ryder Vincent, Wesley and Earl Fulkerson.

Emily never knew a stranger and will be missed by all. She lived a wonderful and full life.
