Dolores Elaine Kenny

Lifelong Goodland, Kansas resident Dolores Elaine Kenny, 85, passed away at Hope Springs in Sharon Springs, Kansas on May 11, 2026. She was born on May 28, 1940 to Harry M. Newell and Doris E. Gotchall in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Sherman Community High School with the class of 1958.

Married on September 14, 1958, she and Stanley S Kenny were married at Goodland. Dolores was a lifetime homemaker who enjoyed crocheting Afghans’ and doilies, gardening, canning, camping, and fishing. She thoroughly loved following her kids and grandkids in all their sports, activities, and events. She loved her family and taught them all how to work hard and have fun!

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Stanley Kenny, her son Jason Kenny, and brother Dennis Newell.

Surviving family includes two daughters Dawn Mayer and her husband Bob of Fort Collins, Colorado; Becki Carpenter of Brewster; daughter-in-law Andrea Kenny of Ulysses; eight grandchildren Ashley Stainbrook, her husband Ryan and their children Kora, Mason, and Kane; Amy Flaska and her husband Skylor and their children Paisley, Easton, and Barrett; Danielle Suarez and her husband Estevan and their child Rexon, Leah Scott and her husband Joseph and their daughters Annabelle and Abigail, Weston Mayer and his wife Joyelle and their children Gracelynn and Tuscon, Kali Cutright and her husband Scott and their daughter Ilagene, Koy Kenny and his wife Kylie, and Cami Kenny; one brother Gary Newell and his wife Lonnie; and one sister Arlene Towns and her husband Bill; several nephew and nieces.
