Curtis Lynn Doxon

Oct 28, 1964 — Oct 9, 2026

Edson, Kansas

Curtis Lynn Doxon was born in Beloit, KS to Robert Doxon and Shirley Knarr on October 28, 1964. He was raised on the family farm where his love for farming and agriculture began. Curtis attended Jewell community schools throughout his childhood and high school years where he met his high school sweetheart and eventual wife Karla Suter. Curtis and Karla were married on December 8, 1989. Upon graduating, Curtis purchased a custom harvesting company that he had previously helped out on during his high school summers. Curtis traveled the United States from Texas to the Dakotas, custom harvesting, enjoying every second of those years, until coming back home to run the family farm.

While running the family farm Curtis was into raising hogs, planting and drilling crops. Where he eventually got in touch with his friend Roger Oplinger and his work with Spring Creek Family Farms began. Moving out to Edson, KS in the year of 2000, he became farm manager of the Goodland/Edson farm. Curtis was a true man of the land. Work was always a top priority because he wanted to make sure that the crops and land were taken care of, just like he was by his employers.

Curtis wasn't like many people who would just farm. His attention to detail and how everything was supposed to run was beyond many people's ability to comprehend, this is why (mainly him) and his family said that he was the smartest man in the world. Curtis was a man that took no shortcuts and made sure everything was done to the best of his abilities. Amongst farming, Curtis was always making sure that his wife and kids were taken care of. Spending time at sporting events, trying to make sure that his kids had what they needed, and making sure his wife was happy. Later on in life when Curtis became a grandfather, he made sure that his grandkids knew how much he loved them. He would come up with nicknames for the kids, get down on the floor and play with them, give them kisses and lots of hugs, and make sure he would tell them that “Papa loves you very much”. Curtis, being an extremely knowledgeable, prepared, and honest man, made sure that as much of his knowledge was passed down before his passing.

Curtis is survived by his son Bob (Jessica) Doxon and children Antoinette, Lyla, Daisy and Titan, his daughter Courtney (Martin) Villalobos and children Rylee, Hudson and Gladelynn, his girlfriend Kristy Kitzke. He is also survived by his nephews Bruce (Amber) Doxon and James Doxon as well as a niece Casey Goodaker and her husband.

Curtis eventually passed on October 9, 2026 in his home where he went peacefully surrounded by his closest friends and family.
