Conrad Hanson

July 14, 1929 — April 22, 2026

Goodland, Kansas

Conrad Hanson was born July 14, 1929, in a small farmhouse near Holdrege, NE. On April 22, 2026, he passed away peacefully at his home in Goodland, KS.

During 1929 little did the family know at the time that the Great Depression was right around the corner and they would lose the farm that was the source of their livelihood. Soon they would pack up and move to Fort Morgan, CO.

Conrad's father was able to find employment with the city of Fort Morgan, and they would live there until Conrad graduated from high school in 1947. Conrad was well liked and was voted student body president his senior year. Conrad was a 4-sport letterman in high school and excelled in Football and Track. For a time, he was the fastest boy in school clocking a 10.3 in the 100-yard sprint. Conrad loved to read and was also proficient in Mathematics and the Sciences. He met his future wife Eloise in high school and later married her in 1953 while he was stationed at Fort Ord during his obligatory service in the army.

After high school he attended the University of Denver and the University of Colorado where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering. His first job as an architect was with Ken White in Aurora, CO. He later took employment with Schlumberger and was a field engineer for about 10 years. During this period, he fathered his only son Dane in Cody, Wyoming in 1957. After his employment with Schlumberger, he attended Colorado College in Greeley and graduated with a master’s degree in 1967. He was then hired by the Fort Morgan School District for the 1967-68 school years and taught high school mathematics.

During this early period in Fort Morgan, he built a home on Lovers Lane and lived there for many and years along with Eloise and Dane. He worked for 20 years as a teacher until he retired in 1988. In 1993 Conrad and Eloise moved to Port Charlotte, FL and stayed there until 2015. He and Eloise then moved to Goodland, KS where he lived until his passing in 2026.

Conrad was preceded in death by his one sister Vicky and his mother and father, Evelyn and Gust. Conrad is survived by his wife Eloise and son Dane.
