Carole Ann Plasterer

Stratton, Colorado resident, Carole A. Plasterer, 79, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington, CO.

Carole was born June 17, 1946. She was the first of 3 children and was raised in California where most of her extended family lived. During her high school years she moved to Colorado to stay with family and attend school in Central City where she graduated in 1964.

After graduation Carole moved to eastern Colorado where she met and married John Nelson and had two children, Shawn and Shari. Carole spent time in Goodland and Salina Kansas and then moved back to California. After moving back to California, she remarried and had her daughter, Cody.

Carole had many interesting jobs over the years in California including bartending, office assistant at a plumbing supply company, and a machinist at Mag-Lite.

In 1988, Carole married Kurt Plasterer. Curt and Carole lived in Yuca Vally, California for many years where Carole helped care for Kurt, his mother, and his brother. Following Kurt’s death Carole began to spend more time back in Colorado where she met Paul Lowe. Carole later moved to Colorado to be with Paul full-time.

All that new Carole knew her as a fun-loving person that always had a smile and never knew a stranger. She loved spending time with friends at Handi’s, going to church and bible study, she loved traveling and time in Grand Lake, and she loved her cats and volunteering for EPAWA.

She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many, many friends.
